I’ve always wanted to visit Eldon House for their strawberry tea, and it was every bit as lovely as I had hoped. Great food, beautiful and peaceful surroundings, and the kind of relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to linger.

It was a charming London experience to share with a friend, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Bonus: I had my first-ever scone. Yummy! Highly recommend adding it to your list for next year.

Why It Matters: Donoghue's work has racked up Academy, Golden Globe, and BAFTA nominations plus a Canadian Screen Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, and she does most of that from a home office here. The FCFF Gala is Wednesday, October 15, 2026, and officially kicks off this year's festival. Tickets are on sale now.
